Blog of the week – Sarah Bayly

Sarah Bayly is a textiles student who keeps an excellent blog. What is striking about it is the thoughtfulness with which it has been structured, with areas for books she has looked at, blogs she likes, among other things. Of course it is also broken up into assignments, projects and exercises too. Sarah documents all her processes on her blog and even has a timeline for her studies with deadlines she has committed herself to. When you follow the link, take the time to browse round the site, and get a sense of the structure. You might get some ideas for your own blog. Click here to see it.

I’d looked at your blog just this week so it was really nice to see it featured here.
It’s a nice looking blog and your work is clear, experimental and fun.
I find the technical side of the blog is hard to get your head around at first, but once you have, it’s such a great way to “think” through a project.
As a creative writing tutor, I’m impressed with Sarah’s blog. I suspect many writers could learn alot from it. Too often in all the institutions I’ve taught in, not just the OCA, writing students describe their emotions and feelings and don’t consider the writing process in enough detail. Thanks for the inspiration, Sarah.
