OCA tutor and assessor Michele Whiting looks at the work of Painting 3 student Daniel Berry.
During their first Skype tutorial Michele noticed some work behind Daniel’s head. She discovered his interest in catastrophe and war zones and encouraged him to tap into this to have a more authentic investigation and to progress in a more intensive way.

Great work Dan. Really absorbing.
A very innovative way of showing the destruction of landscape with the inclusion of a figure. These paintings have relevance to my own work so they are terrific to view. Dan you may be interested in work by Pete Wheeler. You have probably already come across the work by Marlene Dumas.
