Drawn by Light
Join OCA’s Wendy McMurdo on the 6 December between 11am and 1pm to visit Drawn by Light at the Science Museum in London
From serene landscapes to exquisite nudes, this new exhibition brings together over 200 extraordinary highlights from the collection of the world’s oldest surviving photographic society, by some of the greatest names in photography.
Visitors can see some of the earliest known photographic images dating back to the 1820s, by pioneers of photography such as Roger Fenton, William Henry Fox Talbot and Julia Margaret Cameron, alongside contemporary works by some of modern photography’s most influential figures, such as Don McCullin, Terry O’Neill and Martin Parr.

Find it a bit odd that you don’t mention the RPS in your write up but refer only to “the world’s oldest surviving photographic society”; this seems to mirror the position of the RPS in today’s photographic culture.
Interesting too that the Science Museum is having so many good exhibitions these days!

I’m booked! I’m not sure that I can make anything beforehand as have to travel in from out in the sticks, but may well be up for a gallery visit after.
I’m booked for this one too, and it’ll be my first study visit. Haven’t been to the Science Museum in years.
Disappointed to find find out afterwards that I could have bought the catalogue with free postage for £12 from the RPS, when it was £20 on the day.
