When the OCA tutor’s twins came down with chicken pox, a planned study visit to Glasgow International looked to be inevitably cancelled as cover at short notice was difficult to arrange. The visit went ahead however, with the 4 OCA students from different disciplines meeting up independently.

Aftermath explores the response of artists from 1918 -1940. While some wanted to return to more traditional forms of representation, others were committed to experimentation and to criticising the unequal society which they believed had caused the war.
Over the course of doing a degree, there is a lot of opportunity for life to get in the way, and finding and keeping that motivation can be difficult, particularly over the 12 years that you might be with OCA.

Yarn Bombing has been around since the early 2000’s, springing up in different cities around the world under names like guerrilla knitting, yarn storming and urban knitting. It varies in style, aesthetics and meaning but it’s attitude is always warm and fun, bringing beauty to urban spaces. What is common is a sense of community, belonging and working together to improve or reconnect with the places we live.
