I like this a lot – not only for the writing itself, but because it helps to bring the OCA alive. We should have more OCA writing tutors – and students, why not? – reading their work on this site.
Thank you Chris, for your kind words because I’m not the best reader in the world – certainly not up to Book at Bedtime standards! But I enjoyed reading aloud.
don’t forget that students can practice their reading aloud skills by going to writing slams; they’re in pubs and cafes around Britain, and heaps of (scary) fun.
Thanks Nina – the point I’m trying to make is that it’s not just about practising reading aloud, it’s about making this OCA site dynamic and lively with the talents of people presenting what they love to do.
You’re right. Especially for Creative Writing – we paint pictures with words and that’s less eyecatching on a blog – listening to work read aloud would certainly help the dynamics of the site. Anyone who’d like a go might think about contacting the office.
