Lunch at the OCA?

On Thursday 6 February we would like to invite a group of students to visit the OCA to have lunch with our Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) review team. The meeting will be from 1pm to 2pm and in addition to members of the QAA team, students will have the opportunity to meet OCASA committee members. The QAA team are interested in hearing from you what studying with the OCA is like. No OCA staff will be at the lunch, but there will be an opportunity to meet OCA staff after the lunch.
Places are limited. We can realistically only accommodate about 20 people. To express an interest please email our Registrar Steph Gillott (stephgillott@oca-uk.com) no later than 22 January. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

I think it would be important to get the (face-to-face) opinion of at least one non-UK based OCA student, as they no doubt have different opinions and/or experiences than those who study within the UK.

    • Hi Stuart
The principal way in which QAA judge the student perspective is through the written submission from the student association. This 60 minute lunch session is an opportunity for the QAA team of three people to meet the OCASA committee and students who want to drop in. While it is important that the overseas student perspective is taken into account, I do not think it would be a reasonable use of limited funds to pay a student to travel to the UK for such a short meeting. If there are particular points you feel are not reflected in the OCASA submission, could you email John Umney the OCASA President or your subject rep (Nigel Monckton). Contact detail here.
      Thanks
      Gareth
