OCA East of England study event

Open to OCA students from all disciplines EoE is a new multi disciplinary regional group which we wish to build up for mutual support, collaboration and in future an exhibition.
Are you based in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambs, Herts, Beds, North London or East London?

Then come along to our next group meeting on Saturday 23 March 2019 at 1pm – 4pm in Melbourn, South Cambridgeshire.
If you are interested in attending please complete the booking form here.
The group is an ideal opportunity to interact with other students, share your experiences as a student with like-minded peers and there is an opportunity to talk about your work if you wish to.
Maybe you are stuck on a particular project/exercise or assignment and want to bounce ideas around?

“I really value contact with fellow students, it reduces the isolation of distance learning, sharing work in progress at our meetings means I return to the studio enthused and with more motivation.”

Tanya Thomas – OCA Painting Student

Locally based OCA tutor, Andrea Norrington will be giving a talk on ‘Cross-Discipline Study: How It Can Benefit Your Practice’.
This is based on her experience over the last six months as a photographer working with a creative writer, musician and psychoanalyst and will feature a short practical exercise.

“What I hadn’t realised, is how much I could gain in my own approach to my work from working alongside other creative disciplines. The approach from the musician transformed the creative writing from being a closed, private practice to being open and full of collaboration. As a result, the sharing of ideas and knowledge was fruitful and allowed for unexpected paths to be taken. The resulting project is so much richer as a result.”
