Redefining Print

On Thursday 19 November Double Elephant are holding a Print Symposium in Exeter.
The event title Redefining Print is a one-day event of lectures and discussions challenging the traditional boundaries of printmaking. They have commissioned five contemporary artists to create new work by exploring possible redefinitions of printmaking – to explore its role as the inspiration for new work.
The artists appointed are contemporary practitioners – comfortable to work across media. Double Elephant specifically wanted to work with artists familiar with digital media and performance – practices far removed from traditional printmaking yet open to many new possibilities. One of the commissioned artists will make a film to explore the contemporary world of print and they have also appointed a critical writer to the project.
OCA tutor and assessor Doug Burton will be in attendance on the day and will be able to meet and chat with students.
The cost is £20 for students, for more information and to book, please see here.
