On 29 September, the OCA study visit caravan turns up in Liverpool for the 2012 Liverpool Biennial. This will be a combined programme for fine art, visual communications and photography students. Jane Horton, Peter Haveland and myself will be there and we are still in discussion with other tutors. So this will be a great opportunity to see a lot of contemporary work in one day, meet your fellow students and tutors and staff from the OCA. As always, places on study visits are free. The visit will start at 11am. To book your place email enquiries@oca-uk.com

This was such a full day, my head is still reeling!Because I wanted to have a look at it all, I did the full programme (plus the Bluecoat at the end)but it would have been enough to just see the exhibitions at the Tate and the Walker. Definitely a case of a quick look at all of it and then come back another day to see a selection in more detail – if possible. It was a good idea by Gerald to make us pair up initially and choose some works we liked – it got over the initial ‘inhibitions’. Generally, it seemed a really enthusiastic, interested group and lots of discussions went on all day. A successful visit – despite the hard work!
I agree about the amount that was packed into the day! I’d decided to spend several days in Liverpool and was glad I did. It let me go and have a second look at the things we visited and add in lots more as well. I came away thinking Liverpool Biennial should go on the calendar as a regular event in my life.
