Study Visit: 'Diffusion' Photo Festival Cardiff
This is a post from the weareoca.com archive. Information contained within it may now be out of date.
We shall be running a study visit to Cardiff’s first photography festival on Friday 31st May. The Diffusion festival will be showcasing some new work as well as exhibiting some acclaimed recent work, such as Edgar Martin’s Time Machine and a re-examination of the Valleys archive, which includes work by David Bailey and John Davies.
Anyone in the region might be interested in attending the symposium that has been organised to co-incide with the festival on May 3rd.
For the study visit we will probably head to Ffotogallery in Penarth first, then go to the Tramshed , g39, and The Cardiff Story, although the programme and timetable still needs a bit more thought.
I hope to see some of you there. Please sign-up in the usual way; email enquiries@oca-uk.com
I’ll be there Jesse I’ve already received my place notification, looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with the Valley’s archive since our last visit.
am booked for the symposium on the 3’rd – looks like it could be a good support for the necessary theory that accompanies the OCA course.
Here is my account of the symposium day …

Penarth first then Cardiff … am remembering the confusion last time … this time I may have a Sat Nav to guide me rather than following a car that soon disappears into the mass of traffic !!?
Now where’s the fun in that, never mind the challenge!
if I attend this day, it’ll be for the photography … !
Do we have a detailed time schedule yet?
Here is an interview with one of the “artists” showing at the Tramshed …

I’ve written up my log of the day and it’s here if anyone is interested
