OCA tutor and assessor Wendy McMurdo looks at the work of photography student Li Ma. As part of her Expressing Your Vision first assignment Li Ma visited her old primary school and produced a compelling and evocative body of work which gives us a window into a world we normally don’t have access to.

This is an amazing work; an insider view into a school, paying attention to many details of everyday life that all students have to face. I think that it works so well because we all find recognizable elements of our own experience as a students, at least I do. Maybe the fact that it shows a Chinese school also adds a point of interest. The composition and edition of the pictures are amazing. Congratulations Li Ma!!
