At this time of year it is common for lists to emerge of ‘the best photo books of the year’ or the ‘the best exhibitions’. We may even have been guilty of such list making in the past on WeAreOCA. However not this year. This year, I am simply going to say that Edmund Clark’s War of Terror is my favourite exhibition of the year. The term ‘favourite’ needs some unpacking however as the subject matter makes for uncomfortable viewing. So maybe a better description is that, in my view, this is the most successful exhibition of the year; successful in the sense that by making me feel uncomfortable, it made me think about what is happening in all our names and how it is changing our lives.

So you can imagine that I was delighted when Edmund agreed to do a talk for OCA students about his work. The talk will be at 1pm on Saturday 21 January at the Imperial War Museum, London. It is suggested students take the the opportunity to visit the exhibition beforehand.
