London Group study day

Please note there are only a couple of spaces remaining for students who have not previously attended a study event but do register your interest and we can look to add another date.
Join OCA’s Clare Wilson in London on the 8 September.
For the workshop we will be focusing on ways of Interpreting place. How the experience of making relates to the place itself and to memories of that place. And how, as artists we can offer abstractions of the experience and the shifts in time and space – making work that suggests a place visited, experienced or imagined.
You will need to bring two images: 1. A Place that you are connected to in some way and
2. A place you haven’t been to but have seen an image.
Also bring a small object that relates to a place that holds memories. it could be anything – such as a seashell, a plastic toy, a dried flower.
Clare will briefly introduce her own work and her own interpretations of landscape and her painting process. Also discussing some of her experiences as artist on residence in wales and Ireland and how different places inform her work. We will have an open discussion around the subject of painting and landscape, about the work that has been made and about anything that relates to it – and how it might be developed further.

To request a place on a study visit/event please click here and complete the form. Please note there is a £15 booking fee for this visit.
Please also note we are looking at doing a second run event of the April event for those who could not attend owing to lack of spaces.
