Royal College of Art Textiles Summer Show

Join OCA tutor Neil Musson on the 1 July in London.
The prestigious exhibition, which has been curated by Neil features 55 graduates showing a wide range of textiles. The exhibits will include MA work form conceptual to craft based textiles.
During the briefing Neil will explain the context of the exhibition and talk to you about ways of getting the most out of an exhibition visit. Neil will also set you a few tasks to complete as you look around the show in preparation for the discussion. We will focus primarily on the Textile show which demonstrates a very broad range of media, process and outcomes. Additionally you are welcome to visit the other shows in the same building which will add to our discussion about what we have seen.
The Royal College of Art is the countries only purely post graduate college. This means that the work on display is some of the most developed and resolved that can be seen in a student show. It is an excellent way of catching up with the latest trends and styles.
A key element of this trip will be the discussion led by curator, Neil. He will stimulate responses that ensure you really get to understand the mindset behind the work on display and help you to develop a critical awareness of specific details which are important to you. He will be encouraging debate with the OCA student group around how we define and use Textiles.
