OCA Foundations course news
OCA are pleased to announce a new pilot scheme for our Foundations students. As an alternative to assessment, students are invited to submit a body of work to OCA Headquarters to receive optional admissions advice from our course support advisers, Joanne and Eddie. We will provide specific guidance and criteria for students to work from and hope to provide students wanting to continue forward on our degree pathways with more of a conclusive idea of where they are at and their likelihood of success at degree entry level.
We will run this initially as a three month trial. To find out more please email coursesupport@oca.ac.uk

I am interested in taking a drawing course. I have worked with OCA now for many years
and now feel at a loss without a project that would encourage me to work and study.
All through my time with OCA, I enjoyed the work and did well, but sadly fell hard at the last hurdle. However I am confident about my ability to draw. Cheeky Question, During my working life, I gained a City and Guilds qualification in technical illustration.
Could that count as a mark towards a basic degree? I look forward to a reply, thankyou. Jeannette coleman 273559
Hello Jeannette,
I’d recommend that you email student services to discuss your options – enquiries@oca.ac.uk
There is also a section on the website on gaining exemptions, see it here http://www.oca.ac.uk/studying-with-the-oca/gaining-exemptions/

I think this is a very helpful service to offer and have emailed my interest. I’m just finishing off Assignment 4 of the Photography foundations course. I’m pretty sure I would like to continue to the degree progamme but would welcome more feedback and the opportunity to try out a submissions process before doing it for real on the degree. Thank you for offering it.
I am wonder what exactly level is that? If I will want continue after that study towards bachelor do I need make all 3 years of bachelor or getting foundation level it will be equivalent to some points already?
Hello Lina,
The foundations suite of courses are not accredited so have no credits attached to them to count towards your degree. Find out more here http://www.oca.ac.uk/creative-arts-degrees/foundations-courses/
