Student work uncovered – Jackie Owen
Here is a good example of an online portfolio of work for those textiles students who prefer to send their tutor a link to a blog rather than to send a large bag full of work to their tutor, hence saving on postage and backache!
Jackie has so far only completed her first assignment, but the way she has organised her blog made it very easy to navigate the projects. Not only has she displayed each exercise as a detail so that you can see the texture on the surface, but she shows how she organised them in her sheet work. She also displays the sort of quantity and quality we want to see in a student assignment submission. If textiles students typically displayed work of this quality on screen, and organised it as well as Jackie has, they would only need to send a small sample through to the tutor for review. Click here to see her work so far.
This is another (first was Sarah Bayly’s) blog which could help creative writers to work out a way of analysing their writing process.
