It was a pleasure to meet Chris Hodgson at the graduation ceremony last month. Chris had started on her degree studies nearly a decade ago, but clearly didn’t see achieving a degree as an end point. As she described what she was currently working on it became clear that we had to invite in to record a video. I’ll let Chris’ work speak for itself.

This was really interesting to see! I think it is so important to know that there are students who reach that goal, even though the degree was not the end point, and then still continue.
Chris’ work is not something I have ever seen anywhere else, and it is even more interesting to hear that it has a connection to her occupation in a way.
Congrats Chris!
I really enjoyed seeing this video. Thankyou Chris and Gareth. I agree with Dewald, it is so good to see a students work continuing after the degree at such a high level. Really wonderful work, even though I’m a painter, I stll loved it. Thanks again!
Very interesting viewing and a very unusual project. I admire Chris’ lateral thinking and determination to push the boundaries. Many congratulations on the degree as well – hard-earned.

The point Chris makes about not seeing achieving a degree as the end result echoes with me!
I enjoy studying at the OCA while simultaneously keeping my photographic work ticking over; its’ not always easy to find that balance.
As someone just starting out I found Chris’s work and her attitude to the process really inspiring, thanks.
