Johanna Ward‘s work ‘I shall say goodbye with my strengthening love for you, forever and ever’ was considered by students and tutors as one of the highlights of the study visit to the Brighton Photo Biennial last October. So we were delighted when the OCA Student Association invited her to give a student talk. Here is a short extract

Thanks for the notification Gareth. The Student site is proving an excellent resource now for videos/links to artists talking about their work. I went to the Talk and here’s a link to my blog post about it should anyone with to have a look. https://catherinebankscn.wordpress.com/2015/02/04/5-johanna-ward-talk-on-6th-december-2014/#comments
I really like this work and I’m really glad JW came and contributed – credit to the students who organised it 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
I love the format of presentation here…
I am seriously lacking vocabulary but this video was so inspiring I watched it twice! As an overseas students it is sometimes really frustrating not to be able to attend all these talks and study visits and meet with the tutors and students. With the last three talks recorded, it changed a lot of things for me, it makes my looooong distance study experience less frustrating and I really hope there will be more video like that. So thank you OCA and OCASA for organizing this and thank you to Johanna for being so generous in sharing your artistic process and enthusiasm.
Thanks for sharing! Short but meaningful.
I would like to reiterate Stephanie’s words. Being situated so far away makes study visits impossible and the videos like this become a valuable resource. I too watched in detail and benefitted enormously, so thanks to OCA, OCASA and Johanna for sharing this.
