The Rijksmuseum museum in Holland had an idea; Let’s bring the art to the people and then, hopefully, they will come to see more – at the museum.
They took one Rembrandt painting from 1642, Night Watch and brought the characters in it to life and placed them in a busy mall. The rest you can see for yourself!
But before you watch the video below…..take a good look at the painting.

Brilliant!
This is great! Thank you.
I love this. What a wonderful idea to bring up the dynamism of the work. And its brilliantly engaging with the shoppers initially rather alarmed – which I expect the night watch would have made them. The entry of the mounted watch is really dramatic
What a great idea. There should be more like that.
Fantastic! I want to share it but can’t see how to email….any ideas?
If you click on the symbol on the top right of the video it has some options to share.
Perhaps we should set up an OCA amateur dramatics society and make some more of these!!
Many thanks Joanne…have sent to several friends! I can’t stop watching it…so fascinating!
Thanks for sharing it. Patricia

That is just Fantastic!!
