The OCA is pleased to announce a new student discount which we have agreed with Peak Imaging. This will enable students to have their work professionally printed and save 10% on the standard prices. More importantly, it will give students the ability to accurately control the printing end of their workflow. By comparing the printed Peak Imaging calibration card with a digital copy on their monitor, students will be able to ensure that what they see when they review their images before sending them to print is what they look like when they get them back. Instructions on how to do this are here. I envisage we will produce a ‘how to’ video on getting this right relatively soon, but it really isn’t that difficult.
Initially students will need to send their work to Peak Imaging through the post with a completed order form with their OCA number on it. For subsequent orders students will be able to use the Peak Imaging customer number to get the discount through their web upload tool. Existing students can get a copy of the calibration card, price list and order form send us a short email to enquiries@oca-uk.com New students will start getting the calibration card with their course materials very shortly.
Why have we chosen Peak Imaging? Because at degree level, and particularly at level 3, print quality is important. You can read a review of Peak Imaging here
Good call Gareth. On a point in the review; if students want complete control over their crop they should include borders in their image file.
Ah, the penny drops…
I have asked to be involved in this and been informd that i will shortly be recieving my pack.so i am looking forward to finding out what is involved.(very excited.)
This has been extremely helpful in calibrating my monitor to match what comes out of the printer. I may even use Peak to print a few things for me..
I use PI for all my 5×4 processing. First class and the discount is very useful.
